Our sister organisation,

AastarUrmika Health Care Pvt Ltd, operates Aastrika Midwifery Centre at Vasavi Hospital, a Bangalore based centre of excellence for ethical, evidence-based, women-centric maternity care. Aastrika Midwifery Centre nurtures the establishment of midwifery in private healthcare facilities.

Aastrika’s Journey

Aastrika was founded in 2019 by Dr. Janhavi Nilekani, deep-rooted in the belief that all childbearing women must have access to high quality, timely, respectful maternity care and to fundamental rights, including privacy, the companionship of a loved one, informed consent, and an abuse-free birthing experience.
